Legacy 14k yellow gold, Pink Sapphire, diamonds, hammer & satin finish
Kelly and Adena were referred to me by our mutual friend, John, who I also had the pleasure of making his Legacy wedding bands! They wrote to me about transforming four of their family gold rings into their new wedding bands. We used all the three 14k yellow gold rings and sent the fourth one out for refining, as it was 14k white gold. We used the money from the white gold ring to help fund the project.
We talked over their vision and concepts in person and I sized their fingers. Kelly wanted a two-ring set that fit together as a V with a pink sapphire as the center stone and little diamonds for stars in the sky with the bottom ring textured like the mountains in Tennessee, where she's from. Adena's concept was to use a design element from her mother's ring in her new ring, so we kept the sawtooth edge and decided on a hammer textured surface. Once they gave me a deposit, I did drawings and then started carving their rings in wax. We found a few pink sapphires from Montana and they came here and picked out the right one. Once the waxes were completed and approved, the rings go on to the casting phase. Their original 14k family rings were melted down with some additional new gold to create these bands. I cleaned them up after they were cast and hammered them up to their correct size and set the stones that we chose at the beginning of the project. The rings were then satin finished and high polished on the inside. Kelly and Adena came to pick them up and they were thrilled with the outcome!
